The Batala Police arrested a senior scientist-cum-professor at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, for allegedly circulating a defamatory e-mail against the wife of a senior Punjab Police officer and a professor from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).

While the police is tight-lipped about the matter, police sources confirmed that Dr Navdeep Singh was arrested after a “defamatory bulk e-mail” about the woman and her alleged links with PAU professor was sent from a “fake ID” to “entire PAU faculty including the vice-chancellor”.
