Terrorists: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday lashed out at past governments in the state, alleging that they “indulged in caste-based politics and appeasement, dividing society along caste lines while “limiting the benefits of government schemes to one influential family.”
Adityanath was addressing a gathering in Saharanpur after inaugurating 15 development projects worth Rs 381 crore.
The CM remarked that the “double engine government” is “not a buffalo cart but a bullet train.”
He emphasised Saharanpur’s spiritual roots, identifying it as the “sacred land of Maa Shakumbhari and Mata Tripuri Bala Sundari.” He announced that the construction of Maa Shakumbhari University has been completed and its official inauguration would take place soon. He also shared plans for the Maa Shakumbhari Corridor and an elevated road to improve all-weather access to the pilgrimage site.
The CM also spoke about the beautification of the ashram of Jahar Veer Goga, a warrior saint who resisted foreign invaders 900 years ago and attained samadhi here after meeting Baba Gorakhnath. He noted that the ashram has now been transformed into a cultural site.
Adityanath said that his government is committed to ensuring a balance between development and the preservation of cultural heritage.
He announced that under the Smart City Mission, all municipal bodies at district headquarters across the state will be developed as smart cities.

He said that the travel time between Saharanpur and Delhi has now been reduced to just three hours.
The Chief Minister announced that women will be able to travel free of cost on buses on August 8, 9 and 10 as part of Raksha Bandhan celebrations. The Chief Minister called upon the public to organise Tiranga Yatras and collectively sing the National Anthem on August 15, in honour of Independence Day.
Adityanath handed over certificates of appreciation, demo cheques, as well as keys to houses and tractors to beneficiaries of several government schemes.
In a powerful statement from Lucknow, the Chief Minister emphasized his government’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and safeguarding the cultural and spiritual values of Sanatan Dharma. He criticized past governments for allegedly patronizing terrorists and attempting to undermine India’s ancient traditions, while outlining five strong measures his administration has implemented to restore security and pride among citizens.
1. Strengthened Anti-Terror Operations
The CM highlighted that his government has prioritized intelligence gathering and swift operational responses against terror activities. Special task forces have been strengthened, and coordination between state and central agencies has improved, ensuring that threats are neutralized before they escalate. This proactive approach has significantly reduced terrorist infiltration and attacks.
2. Zero Tolerance Policy
Unlike previous administrations, the current government has adopted a zero tolerance policy toward terrorists and their networks. No political or ideological shelter is provided to those involved in anti-national activities. The CM stated that under his leadership, law enforcement agencies have been empowered to take decisive action without delays or bureaucratic hurdles.
3. Tightened Border and Entry Point Security
To prevent the movement of arms, explosives, and radical elements, border checkpoints and entry points have been equipped with modern surveillance systems. This includes advanced CCTV networks, drone monitoring, and biometric verification. These upgrades not only deter terrorists but also give citizens confidence in their safety.
4. Promoting Sanatan Dharma Through Education
The CM stressed that protecting Sanatan Dharma isn’t just about fighting terrorism—it’s also about reviving cultural pride. Educational programs, cultural festivals, and heritage restoration projects have been launched to teach younger generations about India’s spiritual roots. Schools and colleges are now incorporating value-based education that emphasizes harmony, unity, and respect for traditions.
5. Community Empowerment and Vigilance
Recognizing that communities play a vital role in preventing terrorism, the government has launched public awareness drives encouraging citizens to report suspicious activities. Village defense committees, citizen-police liaison programs, and digital reporting apps have made it easier for ordinary people to participate in safeguarding their areas.
The Positive Shift
The CM noted that these measures have already yielded visible results—terror networks have been disrupted, incidents of radical violence have declined, and the morale of law enforcement has risen. More importantly, people across the state feel safer and more connected to their cultural identity.
Conclusion
The Chief Minister’s remarks in Lucknow reflect a decisive break from what he described as the complacency of past governments. By combining robust anti-terror action with cultural revitalization, his administration aims not only to protect citizens from threats but also to ensure that Sanatan Dharma continues to thrive for generations to come.
In his words, “Our fight is not just against terrorists, but against the mindset that seeks to divide our nation. We will protect both our people and our dharma with equal strength.”
Learning from the Past, Building for the Future
The CM made it clear that the mistakes of previous governments should serve as lessons, not be repeated. According to him, allowing any form of patronage to terrorists—whether through political compromise, appeasement policies, or lack of enforcement—has dangerous long-term consequences. His administration’s approach is to act decisively in the present to secure the future.
Focus on Technology-Driven Security
Modern security threats require modern solutions. Under the CM’s leadership, the state has invested in facial recognition systems, AI-powered data analysis, and advanced forensic labs to track and intercept terrorist activities. Cyber surveillance units have been strengthened to monitor online radicalization and prevent digital propaganda from spreading among vulnerable groups.
Strengthening Law and Order at the Grassroots Level
The CM emphasized that security is most effective when it starts at the grassroots. Police stations across the state have been modernized, additional personnel have been recruited, and training programs have been upgraded to handle both conventional and unconventional threats. Regular drills and mock exercises ensure readiness for any emergency.
Integrating Cultural Unity with Security Measures
One unique aspect of the CM’s strategy is integrating cultural preservation with security enforcement. He believes that communities deeply connected to their traditions are more resilient against extremist ideologies. Cultural fairs, temple restoration drives, and public celebrations of festivals like Diwali and Holi are encouraged, fostering unity and shared identity.
Message to the Nation
The CM concluded his address by urging other states to adopt a similar two-pronged approach—strong, uncompromising action against terrorists alongside initiatives that strengthen cultural heritage. “Security and identity are intertwined,” he said. “When we protect our traditions, we protect our people. And when our people are safe, our traditions will flourish.”
With this vision, the state aims to stand as a model for both safety and cultural pride, ensuring that Sanatan Dharma continues to shine brightly in modern India.
